Andreas Görß
Smartphone Architecture Photographer
The photographs of Berlin-based Andreas Görß are created during walks through the cities of Europe. On these explorations, he prefers to photograph architecture – with all its lines, symmetries, and fascinating reflections. He especially enjoys it when the light plays its own games. His works are carefully constructed compositions full of aesthetic appeal. The viewer encounters a synthesis of geometry, light, and shadow.
In some of the photographs shown here, people move into the center of the scene. These are chance encounters.
Passersby, alone, moving through urban canyons, labyrinthine spaces, rows of grimy buildings. One can almost hear their footsteps echoing on the pavement. The bored, the uneasy, the tired – trapped between seas of buildings. Leaving subway stations, their eyes are flooded with light. Are they heading out? Arriving? Rushing toward a destination, or strolling aimlessly?
He captures fleeting moments with the press of a shutter.
Each image tells its own story.
