Terms & Conditions – Architecture Photography Awards
Welcome to the Architecture Photography Awards. By accessing or using our website, or by submitting an entry to the competition, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before participating.
1.1 The Architecture Photography Awards are open to photographers of all skill levels and nationalities, both professional and amateur.
1.2 Participants under the age of 18 must provide written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
1.3 By submitting photographs, you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full and without exception.
2.1 All entries must be submitted via the official Architecture Photography Awards website.
2.2 Participants must register an account, select their desired categories, and upload images in accordance with the technical submission requirements:
• File format: JPEG (.jpg)
• Maximum file size: 5 MB per image
• Color profile: sRGB
• Watermarks: Not permitted
2.3 All entries must be received by the submission deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.
2.4 Participants are solely responsible for ensuring that all contact, payment, and submission details are accurate and complete at the time of entry.
3.1 Photographs that have previously won awards or been published are eligible, provided the participant retains full copyright and the images comply with all submission guidelines.
3.2 Entries that are currently submitted to other competitions are also eligible.
3.3 Submitted images must not:
• Contain offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, or inappropriate content
• Infringe upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, privacy, or intellectual property
3.4 This is a photography competition. Images generated entirely by artificial intelligence (AI) are not permitted and will be disqualified.
AI-assisted tools (e.g. object removal or masking in Lightroom or Photoshop) are acceptable only when the final image is based on a photograph taken with a real camera and remains fundamentally photographic in nature.
4.1 Entry fees are as follows:
• $20 for the first photo
• 15% discount applied to each additional photo
• $10 per additional category for the same image
4.2 Discounts are applied automatically at checkout. Promo codes, if available, must be entered during checkout to be valid.
4.3 All payments are final and non-refundable, except in the case of verified technical issues during submission (see 10.3).
4.4 Entry fees are subject to change. The fees displayed at the time of registration on the official website are binding.
5.1 Participants retain full copyright ownership of all submitted images.
5.2 By submitting, participants grant the Architecture Photography Awards a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use the submitted photographs for promotional purposes, including but not limited to:
• Display on the Architecture Photography Awards website
• Promotion on social media, newsletters, and marketing materials
• Use in press releases and digital or physical exhibitions
5.3 Credit will always be given to the photographer whenever their work is used.
5.4 If you wish to limit the usage of your image(s) for any reason, you must notify the Architecture Photography Awards in writing before submission.
6.1 All entries are reviewed by an international jury of expert photographers, curators, and industry professionals.
6.2 Each image will be evaluated based on:
• Creativity
• Originality
• Technical excellence
6.3 Entries are scored on a scale of 1 to 100 by each judge. Final scores are calculated as the sum of individual scores across the jury panel.
6.4 In the case of a tie, the jury will deliberate to determine the winner based on overall impact and relevance to the category.
6.5 To ensure fairness:
• The judging process is anonymous. Photographer names are hidden.
• Judges do not have access to one another’s scores or feedback.
• Judges may not submit work to the competition.
7.1 The Architecture Photography Awards reserves the right to disqualify any entry that:
• Violates the submission guidelines or Terms & Conditions
• Contains offensive or inappropriate material
• Infringes upon third-party rights, including copyright or privacy
7.2 Disqualified entries are not eligible for refunds.
8.1 The Architecture Photography Awards is not responsible for:
• Lost, corrupted, or incorrectly uploaded files
• Technical issues outside of our control during the submission process
• Legal disputes regarding image rights or third-party claims
8.2 By entering, participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Architecture Photography Awards, its organizers, and partners against any claims or damages arising from their submissions.
9.1 Personal information collected is used solely for the administration of the competition, including:
• Communicating with participants
• Processing payments and promo code validation
• Notifying winners and delivering prizes
9.2 Personal data will not be shared with third parties without the participant’s express consent.

10.1 Once submitted, entries cannot be modified or replaced.
10.2 Participants may request to withdraw an entry by contacting us prior to the start of the judging process.
10.3 Partial refunds may be granted only in cases of verified technical errors during the submission process, confirmed by our support team. In all other cases, payments are final and non-refundable.
Participants are responsible for observing all official deadlines and timelines.

12.1 These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
12.2 Any disputes arising from or in connection with the competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Berlin, Germany.
